About Me

In February ´98 I migrated to Costa Rica looking for a nice place to continue my life. I chose the western part of the central valley of Costa Rica, because it has one of the best climates in Costa Rica and in the world: warm and dry, but not too hot! Daily the temperatures are between 17 degrees at night and max 32 degrees during daytime.
The accommodation was designed by me at the end of 1998 and little by little I realized my dream: first the house and later the cabins, the pool and the tropical garden with many flowers (thanks to my wife Rosy) and fruittrees. My goal was creating a little paradise for me and my guests and of course I'm  proud of the result: a very nice place to live and to stay. Cabinas "El Colibri47" opened at the end of 2001. Nowadays the bed & breakfast is a one man business, however I prefer the private tours. This does mean that if I´m on the road with my guests the bed & breakfast will be attended only in Spanish.

My bed & breakfast is situated outside the village of Turrúcares, more or less in the middle of the mountains, because I like nature and peace! This does mean no loud radios/music. It's easy to go to Alajuela (even by public bus), San José or your next destination. Within a few minutes from my property you can be at the recently opened highway (nr. 27) to the Pacific coast, so in less than one hour you can be at the beach. In the morning you will be woke up by a concert of the many birds in my garden and in the afternoon you can watch some birds taking a bath in the pool.  
My main goal is to offer quality in both the cabins and during my tours at an affordable price.
